Words I’d Like to Hear
We find ourselves bombarded by information, good, bad, indifferent. The information in the forms of words, pictures, memes, sounds, etc insert themselves into our psychic. I’m sure you have had the experience of waking up in the morning feeling that “new day” feel.
Without warning your thoughts turn to the problems you have or the problems of others. A feeling of heaviness settles onto your mind, the fresh day is gone replaced by dread or gloom. So what do we need to hear to recapture the day and reset the energy?
I would tell myself:
My faith is my faith and I can give myself over to it.
It’s okay to ask for help
I am enough
I don’t have to solve everything
I don’t have to have all of the answers
My problems don’t define me
My choices and the accountability involved with mindful and intentional behavior can define me
It’s okay to listen to my body/mind and give myself a break
My feelings are my feelings
You can turn your day and your mood just as quickly as the subtle background sounds rush in.
Mindfully,
